About Me

Baltimore, Maryland, United States
I have loved photography for as long as I can remember, but I really became serious about my work in high school and then college. After graduating with my BA from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, I decided to follow my dreams and started my own photography business. Other than photographing beautiful people I also enjoy photographing animals and nature. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my work.

Robin & Michael's Outdoor Photo Session

My goal before the end of the year is to finish posting all of my photo sessions that I have had this year. With that said, I still have one more photo session to post from the end of last year. This is the last one I promise.

I had the pleasure of taking my aunt and her boyfriend's photos last Thanksgiving. It was a beautiful day in Ocean City and what better way to celebrate the weather than with some photos of two beautiful people.

Feel free to comment :-)

New Etsy Shop!

After much consideration I have decided to open an Etsy shop to sell some of my prints. I honestly have my sister to thank for this because she is the one that pushed me to do this after she opened one and kept talking about how amazing the site is for sellers. So, if anyone is interested in purchasing any of my prints, now you have the option.

Here is the link. Go check it out!

My Best Friend, Heather, comes for a visit

So last November (yes, I know I have some catching up to do), my best friend, Heather, came to visit from Arizona. Since she only comes to visit every couple of years it was only appropriate that we plan a photo shoot while she was here. She always has smile on her face and it is the most contagious smile of anyone that I know so I couldn't resist but to take some personality portraits of her while she was here. So here they are.

Let me know what you think :-)

Glamour Sisters

I'm still trying to catch up with updating my blog so again I apologize about the delay. I happen to know an amazing Make-up Artist by the name of Shara Hurd who needed some photos of her work for entry into a Make-up Contest. So we got together with two beautiful sisters, Catia and Shannon, and made our magic happen. Here are some of my favorites. Shara does make-up for all events (weddings, prom, fashion shows, etc.), so if anyone would like her contact information please let me know.

A special Thank you goes out to the lovely Catia and Shannon for being great models and for Shara's hard work and time she put in to make this photo shoot happen.

Piraino Family

Sorry it has been so long since my last post, I've had lots of things going on including photo shoots. I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful day at Great Falls, MD with the Piraino family towards the end of 2010 and wanted to make sure I shared with everyone.

It turned out to be great weather and not too crowded which turned out to be perfect for picture taking. The Piraino family also did not disappoint all dressed nicely and came with beautiful smiles which made my job very easy. I really enjoyed spending time with the family, especially the little ones and they were so well behaved.

The location held a special place in the Piraino family's heart, as this was the place where Chris proposed to Rose. So romantic!

Baltimore Tilt Shift Series

I just realized that I never posted my photos from the Senior Exit Exhibition at UMBC. I took these photos from the World Trade Center in Baltimore, Maryland. I then manipulated them in Photoshop to create a tilt shift effect which specifically refers to the use of tilt for selective focus, often for simulating a miniature scene. I ended up winning the Presidential Award after the President of the University went around before the exhibit opened and chose one artist's work to have hung in/around his office. I think I am still in shock and very much grateful for winning this award.

I currently have these prints available for sale, either matted and/or framed. If you are interested feel free to send me an email and I can provide you the pricing.

Przybysz Family Portrait 2011

Trying to catch up on updating my blog. My college graduation is coming up very quickly so needless to say a lot has been going on. I did however want to share some of the portraits that I took while I was visiting my sister and her family in Canada last month. Here is one of my favorite portraits that I took while I was there. The photo shoot went well considering there were three children ages three and under. Please let me know what you think.

Canada the Beautiful

I've been in Canada since last Sunday, this being my first time here I have to admit it is very beautiful. I came out here to visit my sister and her adorable family for about a week. We ended up going out for some sightseeing near the mountains (they live in British Columbia) and what a sight to see! Here are a couple of the photos that I have taken and had a chance to edit so far the rest will be on my flickr page once I have finished editing them. As always feel free to comment :-)

Couples Portraits

I recently had two couples portrait sessions on the same day with people that I hold very dear to my heart, my parents and god parents, neither of which have ever had professional portraits taken. These photos were taken at my in-home studio and ended up being a session full of fun and laughs.

These photos were a gift that I gave to my loved ones for Christmas. Portraits make for a creative gift whether it is for the winter holiday season, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc. If you would like to schedule a photo session as a gift for someone special feel free to contact me at tiffany.phillips.photography@gmail.com.

Maternity Session

My first photo shoot this past weekend started Saturday evening with a very pregnant women. Diana is pregnant with her third child and is due at the end of February. She was a very patient and open-minded individual and together we were able to produce some very beautiful images. With this being my first maternity photo session I learned a couple of things.... 1) lots of bathroom breaks are needed, 2) make sure you have snacks/food on hand, and 3) pregnancy is a very beautiful phenomenon.

Here are a couple of images, and the rest can be viewed on my flickr page. So check it out!

I never really liked decorating....

... that was until I got my own place and then I kind of went on a Christmas decoration shopping binge. I've been feeling under the weather ever since Thanksgiving with a really nagging migraine so my plans to decorate my house on Friday didn't happen until today. But I'm happy with the results and decided to try my hand at taking some photographs of my decorations. This one is my favorite!

I had three photo shoots over this weekend as well, not quite finished editing them but I will post a few photos on here once I am done with editing and the rest will be available on my flickr page.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Studio Furniture

So I have been working on getting some children's furniture together for my photo studio. I am planning on having all of the pieces by the end of this week thanks to Craigslist and Target. I wanted to share some photos of the the furniture because I'm really excited to take photos with them. So without further ado...

Let me know what you think! Also, don't forget to check out the rest of my photos on my flickr page.

Greenmount Cemetery

My landscape photography professor gave our class a great assignment where she assigned us GPS coordinates and had us go to these spots and then take photos. The locations are either at a park, a parking lot , or a cemetery in Baltimore. So with that being said, here are my shots so far from my specific location. I've always thought that cemeteries were kind of creepy but I have been dying to take photos of one (no pun intended). My location was Greenmount Cemetery in Baltimore City.

I used my Nikon D50 with a 50mm-80mm lens with a polarizing filter.

Let me know what you think.

Catia's Photo Shoot

So I had the honor of doing a photo shoot for a client last weekend which I think turned out pretty well. I choose a location that I had previously shot at two other times in the past, but I must say this photo shoot definitely turned out the best so far. Here are four photos from the shoot and the rest can be found on my flickr page at:

New Independent Study

So I'm planning on taking another Independent Study class this semester. Only 6 more credits after this semester until I graduate, which means by next Spring I will have my BA from UMBC! I'm in the works of planning for the topic of my Independent Study and I really want it to be Pet Photography. That way next semester for my Senior Project I can combine my portrait photography with humans and animals and have it be something like "People with Their Pets". I have been thinking about this idea since I took my studio photography class a year ago. Here is a photo of my Yorkie, Button. He normally doesn't stay still long enough for me to take a good photo of him but I think this one turned out pretty well.

**Edit**

I decided to include a before photo so you can see what it looked like before I edited it.

Pinhole Photography

I'm taking a Pinhole Photography summer class at UMBC which has been pretty interesting considering we built 3.5 cameras that we used to take the photos. Here are a few of my favorites, and I also posted some others on my flickr page. Check them out and let me know what you think :-)
