About Me

Baltimore, Maryland, United States
I have loved photography for as long as I can remember, but I really became serious about my work in high school and then college. After graduating with my BA from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, I decided to follow my dreams and started my own photography business. Other than photographing beautiful people I also enjoy photographing animals and nature. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my work.

Maternity Session

My first photo shoot this past weekend started Saturday evening with a very pregnant women. Diana is pregnant with her third child and is due at the end of February. She was a very patient and open-minded individual and together we were able to produce some very beautiful images. With this being my first maternity photo session I learned a couple of things.... 1) lots of bathroom breaks are needed, 2) make sure you have snacks/food on hand, and 3) pregnancy is a very beautiful phenomenon.

Here are a couple of images, and the rest can be viewed on my flickr page. So check it out!

I never really liked decorating....

... that was until I got my own place and then I kind of went on a Christmas decoration shopping binge. I've been feeling under the weather ever since Thanksgiving with a really nagging migraine so my plans to decorate my house on Friday didn't happen until today. But I'm happy with the results and decided to try my hand at taking some photographs of my decorations. This one is my favorite!

I had three photo shoots over this weekend as well, not quite finished editing them but I will post a few photos on here once I am done with editing and the rest will be available on my flickr page.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Studio Furniture

So I have been working on getting some children's furniture together for my photo studio. I am planning on having all of the pieces by the end of this week thanks to Craigslist and Target. I wanted to share some photos of the the furniture because I'm really excited to take photos with them. So without further ado...

Let me know what you think! Also, don't forget to check out the rest of my photos on my flickr page.

Greenmount Cemetery

My landscape photography professor gave our class a great assignment where she assigned us GPS coordinates and had us go to these spots and then take photos. The locations are either at a park, a parking lot , or a cemetery in Baltimore. So with that being said, here are my shots so far from my specific location. I've always thought that cemeteries were kind of creepy but I have been dying to take photos of one (no pun intended). My location was Greenmount Cemetery in Baltimore City.

I used my Nikon D50 with a 50mm-80mm lens with a polarizing filter.

Let me know what you think.

Catia's Photo Shoot

So I had the honor of doing a photo shoot for a client last weekend which I think turned out pretty well. I choose a location that I had previously shot at two other times in the past, but I must say this photo shoot definitely turned out the best so far. Here are four photos from the shoot and the rest can be found on my flickr page at:

New Independent Study

So I'm planning on taking another Independent Study class this semester. Only 6 more credits after this semester until I graduate, which means by next Spring I will have my BA from UMBC! I'm in the works of planning for the topic of my Independent Study and I really want it to be Pet Photography. That way next semester for my Senior Project I can combine my portrait photography with humans and animals and have it be something like "People with Their Pets". I have been thinking about this idea since I took my studio photography class a year ago. Here is a photo of my Yorkie, Button. He normally doesn't stay still long enough for me to take a good photo of him but I think this one turned out pretty well.

**Edit**

I decided to include a before photo so you can see what it looked like before I edited it.

Pinhole Photography

I'm taking a Pinhole Photography summer class at UMBC which has been pretty interesting considering we built 3.5 cameras that we used to take the photos. Here are a few of my favorites, and I also posted some others on my flickr page. Check them out and let me know what you think :-)

All moved in

So moving went very smoothly last Sunday, unpacking however.... not so much. I started my summer Pinhole Photography class on Tuesday and it is three days a week so I haven't had much time to unpack. I'm very excited about setting up my new studio and have a great feeling that a lot of good portraits will be done there in the new future. I was even thinking of maybe doing some pinhole portraits, if I do I will definitely post them so you can view them.

New Studio

I'm so excited about moving next Sunday and having a place of my own! I am going to be making my second bedroom into a office/studio/guest room. So that means that I will be able to do photo shoots at home! I'm really excited about this and I think it will be nice to have a comfortable environment for my clients to come and have their portraits done. As soon as I get the place painted and all my stuff moved in I will be able to start shooting.

Flickr

Feel free to check out my flickr page, the link is on the right side of the page. I have a lot more portraits on there that I have taken within the past few months. I am in the process of getting ready to move and will be able to do more photo sessions after things settle down. Check back for more updates to come!

New Business Card

This is my first time using a photo of my own for a business card. Hopefully the size and quality turns out okay because I ordered a lot. Vistaprint.com has great deals if anyone needs to have any business supplies custom made.

Mother's Day Photo Shoot

These photos are from a family portrait session I did for my sister and her adorable family. This was the second family portrait that I have done. Considering it was very windy and chilly that day and I had to try to keep the attention of a six month old baby and a two and a half year old, I think it turned out pretty well.

First Photo Blog

Let me introduce myself, my name is Tiffany Phillips and I am an aspiring artist/photographer. I wanted to create this blog as a way to get my name out there and to share my photography with the world.

My dream has always been to move to either California or New York City and to one day open a photo studio to photograph celebrities with their pets. Being the animal lover that I am, I've been privileged enough to have adorable pets of my own to practice my skills on. It was not until recently that I started doing people portraits which I have grown very found of.

Anyways, feel free to check out my photo shoots and let me know what you think :-)
